Google Testing a New Clickthroughs Features

Google is apparently testing a feature in its search results pages, users see full-page previews of sites before they click this permit.

Bing Sees profit improve In Paid Search

The U.S. paid search market saw increased spending by 5.8 percent year on year in the third quarter, compared with July to grow by 4.9 percent, August and September by 5.8 percent 6.7 percent, according to a new report by SearchIgnite.

Bing saw the most growth in spending by 21 percent over the previous year, with market share gains of 6.4 percent in 3rd Quarter (from 6.2% in Q2). Yahoo saw a 10 percent decline in spending on search advertising Q3, with a market share fell to 13.4 percent from 15.4 percent in the second Quarter. The report says the drop along with earnings from Bing is, in part to test occurring on the combined Yahoo / Bing search Alliance.

Can Twitter Make Google News even better

Google is testing a feature that Twitter brings on Google News. It is not only the addition of tweets in the news mix, but a way for users to share their experiences with the people they follow on Twitter personalize. It makes sense that Twitter is integrated with Google News, and I would not be surprised to see this emerge as a real function, after the test.

The function consists of a box that you connect to your Twitter account name to see if people follow the news are talking about asks. According to Barry Schwartz on Search Engine Land, which provides the following screenshot, it only displays tweets from people who share content that are actually indexed by Google News. This makes sense, too.

At the SMX East in New York, Bing announced new webmaster tools, including a link to report. Google also has percentage change data to its own Webmaster Tools Query reports. More about this here.

Search Engine Land Matt McGee liveblogged a keynote speech with Yelp COO Geoff Donaker, which shared some interesting statistics on Yelp. He says they have about 38 million visitors last month to the site, they have about 13 million reviews and they have about three million users per month using Yelp apps. He also commented on Yelp algorithm, said on a Web page is one of the most important factors in flight experience. To Matt’s website notes, “They want the most recent, appearing Trusted Reviews tip.”

Do you like the Google TV Remote?

ABC Nightline ran a story yesterday morning about Google’s plans to take over the living room TV with Google. As you may know, Sony is one of the launch partners and high-definition televisions and Blu-ray player supports to start the service.

While the story that has been made available by Hulu, a new Sony commercial for a Google TV HD-TV is shown, along with a remote for the TV that comes with a keyboard and directional pad (hat tip to Engadget) .

It is important to remember that the remote is only for Google TV. Google TV is connected to various devices, will come to their own controls. You’ll also be able to take your iPhone or Android phone as a remote control.

A feature of Google TV, the type has been overlooked, that you can use voice search to get it to navigate through the phone. Much is the fact that you control it with your phone has, but what Google product manager Rishi Chandra TV demonstrated in the video, you can just speak for it, see what you want to search. Yahoo’s Chief Product Officer Blake Irving is currently a talk about Yahoo’s product strategy forward. He is talking about the company’s plans in case.

According to Irving Yahoo has 600 million users worldwide, all about the brand. This is really bringing Facebook-over 500 million in perspective, considering how much younger, that undertaking.

So what is on the way of Yahoo? A new experience mail more focused on performance and speed, for a start. Over the next few weeks, users will have access to the new beta. Yahoo promises to be a “cleaner, leaner” interface, a faster experience, better anti – spam features, the ability to review and update Facebook and Twitter pages from the Inbox, and improvements to features such as video, photo-sharing tools and a new version of Yahoo Messenger.

Irving says the experience was last mail “from the ground up.”
